Hot or not?

Every Monday Hot or Not takes a look at some of the drivers playing their usual game of snakes and ladders on the Castrol Rankings.

With the return of Formula 1 still a week away, it was up to the stars of IndyCar and the World Rally Championship to upset the order in the top 20.

While Will Power's Sears Point IndyCar win was the big story at the sharp end, there were plenty of numerous good and bad performances going on elsewhere.

UP THIS WEEK

Gary Paffett (49)

Won the Zandvoort DTM race from his AMG Mercedes team-mate Paul di Resta to put the pressure back on Bruno Spengler in the title chase. Made up 11 places.

Edoardo Mortara (89)

Another to triumph at Zandvoort, this time in the F3 Euro Series as the championship leader rose 15 spots to become the highest-ranked driver in the category.

Jonny Cocker (232)

Helped give Drayson Racing its maiden American Le Mans Series race at Road America after a barnstorming finish and promoted himself 133 spots.

Tom Onslow-Cole (249)

Climbed 96 places with a win and two other British Touring Car Championship podiums in his Arena Ford at Silverstone. Is now a title contender.

Danny Watts (294)

Made history as he, along with Strakka HPD drivers Nick Leventis and Jonny Kane, took an outright Le Mans Series win in an LMP2 car at the Hungaroring. Climbed 140 spots.

DOWN THIS WEEK

Ryan Briscoe (15)

No shame in his fourth place at the Sears Point IndyCar race. But it wasn't as good as his second place last year, causing him to drop two places.

Mikko Hirvonen (20)

WRC ace was defending a maximum score from Rally Finland last year and replaced it with a low one after crashing out of Rallye Deutschland. Fell 10 places as a result.

Martin Tomczyk (135)

Was never a factor in the DTM at Zandvoort on a weekend when neither manufacturer had the edge. Fell 28 places after coming home eighth.

Jan Charouz (200)

Was a Le Mans Series winner at the Nurburgring a year ago with Aston Martin, but did not compete at the Hungarian race this time. Dropped 56 places.

Pierre Kaffer (469)

Lost two lots of points this week, but only replaced them with one, a seventh in the GT class at the Road America. The result was 91-place drop.
