Hot or not?
Every Monday Hot or Not takes a look at some of the drivers playing their usual game of snakes and ladders on the Castrol Rankings.
The top 10 featured more changes in one week alone than in the whole month of August, with Will Power climbing to sixth and Dario Franchitti and Fernando Alonso both falling down.
While Tony Stewart defeated Carl Edwards to take a NASCAR Sprint Cup success at Atlanta, it didn't make him one of the big movers this week.
UP THIS WEEK
Carl Edwards (25)
The NASCAR racer took his best Sprint Cup result of the year with second at Atlanta (above). The Roush Fenway Ford driver gained five spots as a result.
Dean Stoneman (109)
A pair of dominant Formula 2 victories at Oschersleben granted the championship leader a 39-place gain this week. Was outside the top 1000 in April.
Davide Rigon (155)
Superleague Formula driver won a championship race and the superfinal at Adria to launch the Anderlecht team into the title fight. Made up 33 spots.
Laurens Vanthoor (219)
Took a pole and podium finish behind his Signature team-mate Edoardo Mortara in F3 Euro Series at Brands Hatch, and then collided with him in race two. Gained 82 places.
Ed Carpenter (347)
Third IndyCar race back in a Panther/Vision Racing entry netted him his best career finish of second, and climbed a huge 151 places as a result.
DOWN THIS WEEK
Ryan Briscoe (22)
Fell seven places after crashing out of Kentucky IndyCar race. Contact with the gyrating Ernesto Viso was to blame for the Penske driver's elimination.
Gabriele Tarquini(65)
WTCC champion dropped nine spots after an abject weekend at Oschersleben. Was knocked out of race one at first corner and had to come from the back later on.
Martin Tomczyk (153)
Lost 15 places after finishing seventh in his Abt Audi in the Brands Hatch DTM race. Continued a gradual decline from inside the top 100 a month ago.
Mat Jackson (315)
A terrible Knockhill weekend for the Motorbase BMW driver, who got nowhere near his win of a year ago. He fell 59 places while team-mate Steven Kane went the other way.
Antonio Pizzonia (752)
Ex-grand prix driver was quick in V8 Stock Cars at Interlagos, but retired from the race. Also lost his Superleague Formula score from Estoril last year. Fell 184 spots.
